These programs are based on and developed for the modern athlete. They are broken down into a more individualised system to suit the athletes predominant genetic disposition (Speed, Endurance or Hybrid dominant athlete). These programs are the cumulation of years of research, observation and analysis of what works and the realisation that the modern athlete wants to exercise regularly, so i have built these programs with restoration of the nervous system in mind while also driving athletic development. I have noticed in recent years athletes love to train continually, we could even suggest they are addicted to dopamine affect of training and maybe also conscious of their appearence.

I've developed these programs to firstly keep players on the field, develop them athletically while maintaining freshness at the right times of the year, while also dealing with the reality of modern life. These programs use primarily the Anaerobic Speed Reserve method of figuring out an athletes predominant athletic strengths and work from there, so that they train sensibly for themselves.

I'm also use Velocity Based Training for anyone lucky enough to have a VBT device, the speeds used in these programmed in the program will be simply in a column on the program sheet. The idea of different velocity zones can be seen inthe prograqm when you buy it.

If not using the VBT, there will be general colume of explanation for intensity of exercise anyway (fast, explosive, slow tempo etc) so you can use that and while not as exact it is still a really relaible approach.

The Hybrid Athlete Off Season program

The Hybrid Athlete in Gaelic Football, and indeed all invasion team football sports, is the predominant or most common type of athletic profile. This is somewhat level relative but the real superstars in Gaelic Football, Soccer and Aussie Rules for instance tend to be elite Hybrid athletes. Not exclusively, but largely. They can run fast, but maybe not just quite as explosive as our Sprint Dominant Athletes, but they can repeat that a lot and have great aerobic engines. If not quite as good as the real out and out aerobic machines. Many athletes become hybrid because they are not quite at either end of the spectrum but playing the game itself for years and years brings them to a hybrid state.

The major gap in the Hybrid athlete, although again not the only gap, is that biomotor abilities override the actual capacity. As in their physical make up like limb length and stride ability isn't matched by repeat sprint qualities por tendon endurance, as well as more metabolic elements like aerobic capacity. In this program we will look to build muscle and capacity in a fashion that will improve the genetic capabilities of hybrid athletes while not fatiguing them excessively.
